General Production Worker - AG
**Job Title: General Production Worker - AG Line - $20/hr!** **Job Description** As a General Production Worker, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the quality and efficiency of our production process. You will be responsible for adhering to all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), accurately following mix instructions, and ensuring the correct use of ingredients. This role requires attention to detail in checking weights and recording all lot and bag numbers used. You will uphold sanitation practices for the equipment and maintain a clean work area. The position involves performing minor maintenance tasks on equipment under supervision and requires physical stamina for lifting weights consistently. **Responsibilities** + Follow all SOP guidelines related to production accurately. + Correctly follow mix instructions, both written and verbal. + Ensure the correct use of ingredients and check weights. + Accurately record lot and bag numbers used in production. + Maintain sanitation practices of the equipment. + Keep the work area clean and orderly. + Perform minor maintenance work on equipment as needed under supervision. + Lift 50-55 lbs consistently at waist height or shift weight side to side. + Work in confined spaces due to the building's age, such as spiral staircases. + Operate in hot environments in non-air-conditioned areas. + Utilize heights, such as catwalks above machines. **Essential Skills** + Ability to lift 50-55 lbs consistently. + Willingness to train for forklift usage in the future. + Previous experience in machine operation, manufacturing, or related fields. + Mechanically inclined with the ability to perform basic maintenance tasks. + Experience in batch mixing or recipe reading. + Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), especially in food environments. + Reading and writing skills for legible documentation. + Proficiency in math skills using decimals and fractions. **Why Work Here?** Employees receive bi-weekly pay, and benefits begin after 30 days, including healthcare through United Healthcare and a 401k match up to 6%. Once employed directly with the company, these benefits restart after 30 days. **Work Environment** The work environment is a large, older style brick manufacturing building, including additional locations across the street. The facility produces dry powder items, such as Swiss Miss Hot Cocoa mix. While some areas can be hot, the mixing area is air-conditioned. Shifts are currently from 4pm to 4am or 4am to 4pm, with a potential change to 7am to 7pm or 7pm to 7am starting September 1st. Expect to work four days a week due to business demands. Mixers undergo a 6-8 week training period, starting with packing and general labor. GMP requirements include no jewelry or accessories that may fall into the mixes, wearing uniforms at all times, and steel-toed boots required from day one. The position involves significant stair climbing and walking due to the building's layout. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Defiance, Ohio. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.75/hr.
