Job Title: General Production Worker - 1st shift - 19/hr
Job Description
As a General Production Worker, you will be an integral part of the team responsible for maintaining cleanliness and operational efficiency in our manufacturing facility. This role involves using hand tools and equipment to perform cleaning tasks on machinery and work areas, including shoveling ash, cleaning oil spills, and ensuring overall cleanliness during machine shutdowns.
Responsibilities
Use hand tools and equipment such as shovels, scrapers, power washing equipment, and hoses to clean machinery and work areas.Clean ash from products and shovel it into buckets.Clean oil spills and other debris from areas around machinery.Perform overall cleaning of entire machines during shutdowns.Repetitively lift, stoop, bend, squat, kneel, reach, or crawl as needed.Lift up to 50 lbs unassisted and climb ladders or stairs attached to machinery.Use personal protective equipment (PPE) such as double hearing protection, fire-resistant coveralls, eye protection, and hard hats in certain areas.Clean up grease, oil, ash, and lime as part of routine tasks.Essential Skills
Experience in manufacturing, industrial, or construction settings.Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted.Willingness to work varied hours, including early mornings or late shifts if required.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with power washing or hydro blasting equipment.Familiarity with industrial cleaning techniques.Understanding of confined space or respirator use.Why Work Here?

Work Environment
The work environment is in a steel mill known for being hot, dirty, loud, dusty, and oily. Employees should be prepared for these conditions. Contractors will work as third-party contractors, and there are currently 45 individuals on site, with plans to expand the team. The standard workweek is 40 hours, with normal start times at 6:30 am for 8-hour shifts. Overtime may require earlier or later shifts. Personal protective equipment, including steel toe boots, eye protection, hard hats, double hearing protection, and fire-resistant coveralls, is required.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
