Job Title: General Production WorkerJob Description

Join a leading wire manufacturer in the western United States, renowned for producing galvanized and reinforcement wire along with an array of specialty wires. As a General Production Worker, you will play a crucial role in operating and monitoring the galvanizing line, ensuring safety and product quality in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

ResponsibilitiesOperate and monitor galvanizing line equipment, including payoff units, cleaning stations, zinc kettles, cooling sections, and take‑up/winding machinery.Feed raw wire into the line and ensure continuous, efficient material flow throughout the production process.Inspect wire for coating quality, diameter consistency, surface defects, and proper zinc adhesion.Perform routine adjustments to line speed, temperature, tension, and coating parameters to maintain product specifications.Handle zinc ingots, flux materials, and other production inputs safely and efficiently.Conduct basic maintenance tasks such as cleaning equipment, clearing jams, replacing worn components, and reporting mechanical issues.Follow all safety procedures, including PPE requirements, lockout/tagout, and hot‑metal handling protocols.Essential SkillsMechanical aptitude and general production experience.Ability to work in high-heat environments and at heights.Safety-oriented with a strong attention to safety protocols.Excellent attendance and reliability.Team-oriented with strong collaboration skills.Additional Skills & Qualifications2-3 years of tenure in a previous job is preferred.Manager reference required regarding attendance.Cannot be sensitive to heat or heights.Flexibility to start in various roles based on skill level.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

Work in a large wire fence manufacturing facility with a high-heat environment near molten zinc kettles. Safety is paramount due to the presence of chemicals and heavy machinery. The environment is loud with exposure to noise, fumes, and moving machinery. Shifts include swing and night schedules, requiring training on the night shift. Air conditions vary with seasonal temperature changes, being hot in summer and cold in winter. The galvanizing line operates on a 12 days on/2 days off schedule.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $47840.00 - $47840.00/yr.
