Job Description

We are seeking dedicated individuals to operate industrial sewing machines for the manufacture of medical device parts. You will receive comprehensive training to ensure proficiency and success in your role.

Responsibilities

Operate industrial sewing machines to manufacture medical device parts.Participate in a week-long training class on industrial sewing machines.Work alongside a mentor to learn the production process.Set up sewing machines with the correct thread.Increase production count to the expected output level within 13 weeks.Maintain a clean and safe work environment.Sit for extended periods while operating sewing machines.Seek assistance or call maintenance if issues arise with sewing machines.Ensure products meet quality standards.

Essential Skills

Attention to detail.Ability to achieve production goals.Experience or ability to adapt to a fast-paced production environment.Sewing and industrial sewing skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

General production and labor experience.Inspection skills.Familiarity with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) and medical devices.No acrylic or permanent nails, and no jewelry except wedding bands without stones.Clear plastic bottle with a lock required on the floor.

Work Environment

Our facility is a contract manufacturing medical device company that has experienced significant growth, now employing 800 people. The production floor consists of 75% industrial sewing machines and operates in a clean GMP environment requiring hair and beard nets. The facility is not climate-controlled, becoming warm in summer months, but equipped with fans. We embrace a diverse workforce with multiple languages spoken and offer opportunities for non-fluent English speakers. Shift options include 1st shift from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm, with voluntary early start and Saturday hours, and 2nd shift from 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm, with extended hours available.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of St. Charles, Illinois.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $18.00/hr.
