**Job Title: General Production Worker**
**Job Description**
We are seeking a dedicated General Production Worker responsible for providing all-around support in our machine shop, primarily working on the plainer side.
**Responsibilities**
+ Collaborate closely with plainer operators to ensure efficient workflow.
+ Receive raw materials and verify proper weights and amounts.
+ Conduct basic quality checks on finished products to maintain high standards.
+ Operate machinery to straighten machined bars effectively.
+ Construct wooden crates for product shipping.
+ Utilize a sander to smooth out rough spots on materials.
**Essential Skills**
+ At least 2 years of experience in machine operating or heavy industrial settings.
+ Background in manufacturing environments.
+ Experience in a steel or machine shop is advantageous.

**Work Environment**
Work in a small machine shop that specializes in producing large metal parts for steel bending. The environment is industrial with steel scrap on the floor, and you will need to bring your own basic tools and steel toe boots. We provide safety glasses and ear plugs. The dress code is relaxed, allowing for clothes you don't mind getting dirty. The work schedule is from 6:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Thursday.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chicago, Illinois.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $24.00/hr.
