Job Description
This position requires operating various machinery, including punch presses, drill presses, shear presses, straightening presses, torches, overhead cranes, forklifts, saws, and more. The role involves assembly tasks, loading and unloading machines, monitoring machine operations, maintaining clean work areas, and performing housekeeping duties as needed. Cross-training in multiple areas based on needs is an integral part of the job.
Responsibilities
Conduct final switch point assembly and grinding tasks.Assist with CNC drill operations.Build panels and pre-assemble components, including deburring points and rails.Utilize grinders, impacts, overhead cranes, and forklifts in daily operations.Participate in Frog Assembly Department tasks, using overhead/jib cranes, forklifts, and operating vertical and horizontal benders.Run punch press operations efficiently.Push large guiderails through bending machines.Assemble brackets into place on guiderails using basic hand tools.Essential Skills
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.Proficiency in reading a tape measure.Strong mechanical aptitude.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with punch presses is advantageous.Experience in metal fabrication.Familiarity with drill presses, benders, and saws.Knowledge of quality tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.Why Work Here?

Work Environment
Work in a dynamic machine shop environment with extensive metal fabrication equipment. Handle large metal bars used as guide rails for railroads, moved using overhead cranes. The facility is not temperature-controlled, with open garage doors in warmer months. The team includes 40 people, with small groups on office and second shifts. Dress code requires long pants and sleeves. The first day includes two hours of safety training and orientation.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.25/hr.
