**Job Title: General Operator**
Job Description

As a General Operator, you will work with the production team to maintain safety and quality standards while supporting various operations throughout the year. Responsibilities
+ Safely perform duties while maintaining seed quality.
+ Adapt to changing conditions and anticipate needs, making independent decisions as necessary.
+ Work independently or as part of a team to support seasonal operations.
+ Maintain exceptional attendance and reliability.
+ Harvest and process seed crops during busy seasons, ensuring quality and efficiency.
+ Operate equipment such as dryers and forklifts to support seed processing and packaging.
+ Label, tag, bag, and palletize seed for shipment.
+ Assist in warehouse activities including picking, pooling, staging, receiving, and loading carriers.
+ Follow standard operating procedures to ensure safety and quality in all tasks.
+ Engage in general plant upkeep, including cleaning and maintenance tasks.
Shift:
+ Start on 1st shift and in 4 weeks move to 2nd shift.
+ work 7 days out of 14 days
+ Example: Work ever other weekend.
+ Total of 42 hours
Essential Skills
+ Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 60 pounds.
+ Experience with repetitive and laborious work.
+ Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
+ 1+ year of experience in a manufacturing or warehouse setting with forklift experience.
+ Ability to work long hours and rotational shifts, including overtime as needed.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ 6+ months of manufacturing experience preferred.
+ Proficiency with material handling and RF scanners.
+ Experience with loading, unloading, and packaging processes.
+ Familiarity with operating sit-down forklifts.

Work Environment
The work environment includes both indoor and outdoor settings, with exposure to varying weather conditions. Operators are required to wear safety gear, including steel-toe boots, hi-visibility vests, and safety eyewear. The role involves standing or sitting for extended periods and operating forklifts. The workplace maintains a smoke-free policy and requires adherence to safety protocols, including the use of seatbelts and restrictions on electronic devices in work areas.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Durant, Iowa.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
