**Job Title: Entry Level Mechanic** **Job Description** The General Mechanic will support our full-time mechanics by ensuring equipment is in optimal working condition. This role involves fixing equipment as it breaks down and performing preventive maintenance tasks such as oiling equipment, turning wrenches, and preparing machinery for operation. **Responsibilities** + Assist full-time mechanics with maintenance and repair tasks. + Perform preventive maintenance on equipment, including oiling and ensuring readiness for operation. + Maintain and troubleshoot mechanical systems, including pneumatic systems and precision alignment of conveyor belts and drive shafts. + Utilize knowledge of infrared thermography for predictive maintenance. + Ensure safety and compliance in all mechanical tasks. **Essential Skills** + Mechanical aptitude with a basic understanding of mechanical systems. + Experience or knowledge in pneumatic systems and air power actuators. + Ability to perform precision alignment on conveyor belts, drive belts, and shaft alignments. + Proficiency in preventive and predictive maintenance techniques. + Strong troubleshooting skills. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Minimum of 1 year of experience in a mechanical role, or equivalent experience such as mechanical classes or farm equipment operation. + General mechanical skills and a mechanically inclined mindset. + Experience with farm hand type work is a plus. **Work Environment** The position operates on a day shift from 6 am to 2:30 pm, Monday through Friday. Flexibility for shift changes may be required in the fall and winter seasons.
