General Laborer
**Job Title: General Laborer** **Job Description** The primary role of a General Laborer is to manually move freight, stock, or other materials and perform various unskilled general labor tasks. **Responsibilities** + Attach identifying tags to containers or mark them with identifying information. + Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments and material and equipment needs. + Record numbers of units handled and moved using daily production sheets or work tickets. + Move freight, stock, and other materials to and from storage and production areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles, ships, and containers, by hand or using trucks, tractors, and other equipment. + Sort cargo before loading and unloading. + Assemble product containers and crates using hand tools and precut lumber. + Load and unload ship cargo using winches and other hoisting devices. + Pack containers and re-pack damaged containers. + Carry needed tools and supplies from storage or trucks and return them after use. **Essential Skills** + Verbal and written communication skills. + Analytical and problem-solving abilities. + Team player and detail-oriented. + Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective local, state, or national security operations for the protection of people, data, property, and institutions. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + High school diploma or GED required. + 2-4 years of experience in roles such as Cleaning and Painting, Cleanroom Technician, Grounds Maintenance Janitor, Installation. **Why Work Here?** Join a dynamic work environment that values teamwork and attention to detail, offering opportunities to develop your skills and grow within the organization. **Work Environment** The work schedule is from 5:00 am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Thursday, providing a consistent and predictable work routine. The environment promotes safety and adherence to security operations. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract position based out of New York Mills, MN. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $17.50 - $17.50/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
