The role primarily involves operating industrial sewing machines to produce and sew filters used for industrial paint booths. This position requires ensuring the product meets quality standards while maintaining equipment in good condition.
ResponsibilitiesRemove cut patterns from the cart and stack them on the sewing table.Assemble patterns and sew pockets as needed.Turn the bag right side out if required and inspect for defects.Place the product on the conveyor for wire assembly if required.Sew in stays as required, inspect for defects, and package into boxes.Keep records of quantities and time as required.Ensure the quality of the product at all stages.Essential SkillsExperience in industrial environments.Proficiency in operating sewing machines.General labor skills including sewing, machine operating, and assembly.Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.Capable of standing, sitting, pushing, and pulling items.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with packaging and palletizing.Familiarity with cleaning and maintaining industrial machinery.Why Work Here?Enjoy a supportive work environment with great retirement and financial benefits including a 401(k) with matching contributions and a defined contribution pension plan. Work EnvironmentThe position is based in a manufacturing plant in Ottawa, KS, which has multiple departments including sewing, packaging, and CNC. The facility operates Monday through Thursday from 5am/5:30am to 4pm, with optional work on Fridays. The environment involves working with sewing machines, bag lines, and blankets production, ensuring a dynamic and engaging work experience.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $17.25 - $17.25/hr.
