Job Description

We are seeking a motivated General Laborer to join our team at the concrete plant located in Newberrytown, York Haven, PA. This full-time position offers a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with room for growth and advancement.

Responsibilities

Break down molds of concrete pieces that have cured overnight.Pull out 'green concrete' from the molds and clean out the molds by scraping out excess concrete.Prep the forms for the next pour.Operate a saw.Prepare molds and set in re-bar with spacers.Clean up the area by sweeping and shoveling concrete scrapes.Assist in smoothing poured concrete in the afternoon to cure overnight.

Essential Skills

Previous experience in construction or a heavy manufacturing setting.Basic math skills and the ability to convert measurements.Experience with hand and power tools.Ability to use a tape measure with 1/16\" measurement accuracy.Capability to lift and maneuver 50 lbs regularly throughout the workday.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Direct experience with concrete manufacturing, preferably pre-cast and/or rebar.Detail-oriented with a basic knowledge of angles and measurements.Self-motivated and quick learner.

Work Environment

The work environment includes two plants in York, PA, with the main facility located in Newberrytown. The facility has high ceilings, is heated in winter, and opens bay doors for ventilation in summer. Employees can expect to work in an environment with concrete dust and machinery, where safety gear such as gloves and safety glasses are provided. The dress code requires long pants, a T-shirt, and steel toe boots. The facility is equipped with overhead cranes and large forklifts for moving products.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of York, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
