Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated general laborer who will assist with the delivery, staging, and professional installation of furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E). This role offers training in technical work and involves physically demanding tasks within active construction and healthcare environments.
ResponsibilitiesAssist with the delivery, staging, and installation of furniture, fixtures, and equipment.Staging and moving equipment on site.Install head walls behind beds and manage equipment like sinks, fridges, freezers, cleaning products, and bed pans.Unload and stage all equipment using a pallet jack.Install earthquake protection systems.Follow site maps, floor plans, cut sheets, and install drawings.Use hand and power tools on site.Comply with all site safety protocols and procedures.Follow directions from supervisors.Engage in general labor tasks such as loading and unloading trucks and moving items.Essential Skills1 year of experience in heavy labor or physically demanding roles.3+ months of moving experience (residential or commercial).Experience with moving, wrapping, and preparing furniture and equipment.Skilled in handling large and heavy objects safely and efficiently.Ability to move and position oversized items.Strong attention to detail, especially with high-value or delicate items.Comfortable working in active construction and healthcare environments.Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.Additional Skills & QualificationsMechanical skills.Forklift operation.Assembly skills.Experience in lifting boxes.WHIMIS, CSTS, Fall Protection, or other safety certifications are an advantage.Why Work Here

Work Environment
Work primarily takes place at New St. Paul's Hospital and other commercial sites, with initial operations starting within the warehouse at the commercial division in Delta. The position requires working Tuesday to Saturday at the hospital and Monday to Friday at other sites, with an expected 40-hour work week and potential overtime. The dress code includes the provision of uniforms and safety PPE.
