Job Title: General Laborer

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated General Laborer to assist with various construction tasks. This role involves using hand and power tools, chipping concrete, shoveling, and cleaning equipment. You will work closely with the driller operator to ensure safety and efficiency on site. This role would come with additional overtime opportunities.

ResponsibilitiesUtilize hammers, measuring tapes, and be trained on drill rigging tools.Chip concrete, shovel, and clean equipment.Communicate effectively with the driller operator to identify safety hazards.Cap rebar and guide equipment onto construction sites.Perform general site cleanup.Essential SkillsMinimum 2+ years of experience in civil, commercial, or industrial construction.Effective communication skills for measurements and directing construction equipment.Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repetitively.Experience reading and interpreting measurements.Possession of CSTS & WHMIS certifications (support available for obtaining these).Comfortable working out of town and with site-specific drug and alcohol testing.Must have own vehicle.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience working around heavy equipment.Experience with hand and power tools.Experience operating a loader, particularly 600 series.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

The role involves being the first on site for all construction projects, typically after basic civil earthworks. Conditions may vary from muddy and wet to dry and dusty depending on the weather. Work hours are from 7am to 3:30pm, with a 30-minute lunch break and potential overtime, especially during summer months. Some sites may require work on Saturdays, so availability on Saturdays is mandatory. Candidates will use an app to locate their worksite and will work with the same crew. A positive work environment is emphasized, with strong team dynamics and supportive management.
