Job Title: Construction Laborer

Job Description

We are seeking dedicated Construction Laborers to join our production team. In this role, you will be responsible for loading bags of sand, slag, and other base concrete mix materials into loaders, moving and stacking pallets, shoveling materials, cleaning the work area, and breaking up rocks. This position is essential until the docks close in November.

ResponsibilitiesLoad bags of sand, slag, and other base concrete mix materials into loaders to feed into tanker trucks.Move pallets on/off of trucks and stack pallets of finished products.Shovel sand, slag, and other concrete mix materials.Clean the work area.Break up rocks.Essential SkillsAbility to lift 50 lbs repetitively throughout an 8-hour shift.Ability to work outside in various weather conditions for the entire shift.Experience in outdoor labor or refrigerated/freezer environments.Capability to bend, twist, and squat for the entire duration of the shift.Ability to wear a respirator for the duration of the shift when needed.Additional Skills & QualificationsFlexibility with shift changes; candidates will train on the first shift and may be moved to night shifts.Punctuality is crucial; candidates must not be late or return late from lunch breaks.Strict no-phone policy during shifts.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

This role involves working outdoors in various weather conditions. The company provides respirators, coveralls, and work boots (steel toes not required). Dress appropriately for the weather, especially in winter, as the work site is located on a port off the water. Shifts are from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM (Monday - Friday) and afternoons from 4:00 PM to 12:30 AM. Overtime may be available depending on site needs. A half-hour lunch break and small breaks throughout the shift are provided.

This is a Contract position based out of Detroit, Michigan.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
