Job Title: General Labor

Job Description

General Laborers will support a project recycling steel. Responsibilities include manual labor, transporting items to worksites on the ship, and daily cleanup of all supported areas.

ResponsibilitiesObserve hot work: Continuously watch for fires during hot work operations.Inspect work areas: Look for flammable liquids or vapors before, during, and after each shift.Maintain safety standards: Ensure fire-fighting equipment is available and follow safety permit requirements.Notify authorities: Inform emergency services and firefighters if there is a fire.Stop work: If necessary, stop work and take steps to restore safe conditions.Communicate: Instruct employees on where to keep flammable materials and how far away they should be from flames.Assist in construction of hotwork containments and help cleanup at the end of shift.Take safety precautions: If you believe there may be a hazardous situation, stop operations and check.Essential SkillsExperience in construction.Proficiency with hand tools.Ability to perform cleaning and loading tasks.Experience in production and concrete work.Additional Skills & QualificationsMust have current dids and access to Dry Dock 4.Ability to lift up to 50lbs.Commitment to an 8-month contract.Availability for day shifts, some weekends, and overtime as required.Work Environment

Work on the Surface Ship at Pearl Harbor DD4, primarily during the day shift with some weekend work. Overtime may be required as per the schedule.

This is a Contract position based out of Kapolei, Hawaii.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $23.00/hr.
