General Accountant
Job Title: General AccountantJob Description

As a General Accountant, you will play a crucial role in maintaining general ledger accounting activities, including preparing journal entries, conducting account reconciliations, and supporting month-end close processes. You will work with trial balances to ensure accuracy and completeness across various entities. Utilizing advanced Excel skills, you will analyze, reconcile, and transform financial data. Additionally, you will support data mapping, validation, and reconciliation efforts during the ERP transition from QAD to SAP. Your role will involve assisting with financial reporting, partnering with internal stakeholders to address discrepancies, and supporting process documentation and standardization for system improvements.

ResponsibilitiesPrepare and maintain general ledger accounting activities such as journal entries and account reconciliations.Ensure accuracy and completeness of trial balances across entities.Leverage advanced Excel skills for financial data analysis and reconciliation.Support data mapping, validation, and reconciliation efforts related to the ERP transition.Assist with financial reporting to ensure data consistency and accuracy across systems.Collaborate with internal stakeholders to troubleshoot discrepancies and improve data integrity.Support process documentation and standardization as part of system and process improvements.Participate in ad hoc accounting and analysis projects as needed.Essential SkillsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.3+ years of general accounting experience in manufacturing or multi-entity environments preferred.Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP.Understanding of GAAP, general ledger accounting, and financial close processes.High attention to detail with ability to manage and prioritize multiple deadlines.Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across finance and business teams.Additional Skills & QualificationsExposure to or experience with international accounting and multi-entity consolidations.Prior involvement in ERP implementations or system conversions, particularly SAP.Experience working in a manufacturing or global organization.Familiarity with data migration, chart of accounts mapping, and system testing.Work Environment

The office is undergoing renovations, which will provide significant upgrades to the workspace.

This is a Contract position based out of Wooster, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $35.00/hr.
