Job Description:

Job Summary
This position promotes a safe work environment and protecting the public to ensure the health and safety of all UPS employees and customers. He/She assists in ensuring regulatory and UPS policy compliance to prevent injuries and accidents and reduce workers compensation and liability costs. This position assists in maintaining positive contacts with professional, regulatory, and community organizations to provide a safe work environment and strengthen UPS's standing in communities that are served. He/She conducts district safety training and certifications to ensure compliance and consistency. This position conducts health and safety audits and inspections (e.g., employee observations, hearing and fall protection, seatbelt, etc.) to identify areas of non-compliance. He/She works with Health & Safety Managers to schedule and participate in meetings with organizational and regulatory representatives to foster positive working relations.

Responsibilities:

This position conducts health and safety audits and inspections (e.g., employee observations, hearing and fall protection, seatbelt, etc.) to identify areas of non-compliance.He/She works with Region Health & Safety Managers to schedule and participate in meetings with organizational and regulatory representatives to foster positive working relations.Assists in the development and execution of the Health and Safety Action Plan to maintain a safe work environment.Ensures designated responders have current training and skills.Works with Compliance Health and Safety Program (CHSP) Committees to ensure committees are effectively carrying out their roles and responsibilities.Reviews existing health & safety processes and activities.Tracks, measures, and communicates safety results.Manages the Health & Safety Process Improvement Plans and ensures all recommendations are implemented by target dates.This position serves as a liaison between districts and divisions to ensure UPS internal and government safety compliance to regulatory standards.He/She trains and educates operations management to carry out their safety responsibilities and holds them accountable to achieve individual and group safety goals.This position ensures the Operations Business Managers train Supervisors to facilitate trainings for the non-management employees on safety processes.This role will require oversight of the GBS Clark Site Clinic Management Team composed of vendor doctors & nurses, including 2 UPS hired nurses.


Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Industrial Engineering and/or similar studyMinimum of 2 years' experience in a Safety Officer/Supervisor capacityMust be S01 to S04 certified.2-3 Years Experience conducting health and safety inspectionsExperience with incident/accident investigation and designing corrective actions to avoid similar cases of incidents/accidents.Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and OutlookMust be willing to work in a shifting schedule (day and graveyard).With a strong command of written and spoken English language
