The GBS Portfolio Senior Manager & PMO Lead, reporting to the Senior Director of Global Business Services (GBS), is a senior, enterprise-facing leadership role responsible for shaping and operationalizing portfolio strategy, governance, and execution standards for the Global Business Services (GBS) transformation portfolio at Dentsply Sirona. This role acts as a recognized expert and trusted advisor to GBS and enterprise leadership, anticipating business challenges, informing portfolio strategy, and driving complex, cross-functional transformation initiatives with material enterprise impact. The Portfolio Senior Manager operates with significant independence and senior-level judgment within a defined strategic framework, leads through influence rather than authority, and plays a critical role in advancing the maturity, credibility, and strategic impact of the GBS operating model globally. **Key Responsibilities** **1. Portfolio Governance & Strategic Alignment** + Lead the end-to-end governance and execution of the GBS transformation portfolio, ensuring alignment with the GBS vision, enterprise priorities, and S/4HANA roadmap. + Define, implement, and continuously evolve portfolio governance frameworks and execution standards, including intake, prioritization, business case review, and steering routines, in alignment with GBS leadership direction. + Maintain enterprise-level visibility into portfolio health, including timelines, interdependencies, risks, and financial and operational impacts. + Anticipate portfolio-level challenges and dependencies, translating them into data-driven insights and recommendations for GBS leadership. + Develop and enhance PMO standards, methodologies, tools, and templates to strengthen delivery discipline and consistency across GBS. **2. Program & Project Oversight** + Oversee complex, cross-functional programs and initiatives spanning Finance, Procurement, Customer Service, HR, Operations, and IT. + Provide senior-level guidance, problem-solving, and escalation support to program and project managers, particularly for complex or high-risk initiatives. + Partner with Global Process Owners (GPOs) on stabilization, transition readiness, operating model refinement, and continuous improvement initiatives. + Ensure project charters, KPIs, benefits, and success criteria are clearly defined, measurable, and consistently applied. + Provide hands-on project management support as needed during critical phases or escalations. **3. Executive Reporting & Stakeholder Engagement** + Serve as a key advisor to the Senior Director, GBS and the GBS Leadership Team, providing portfolio-level insight, analysis, and recommendations. + Prepare executive dashboards, leadership presentations, and portfolio updates with a focus on clarity, outcomes, and decision-relevant information. + Drive alignment and transparency across global and regional stakeholders, navigating competing priorities in a matrixed environment. + Influence outcomes through expertise, credibility, and structured communication rather than formal authority. **4. Resource & Capacity Management** + Maintain visibility into portfolio-level resource demand, capacity constraints, and prioritization needs across regions and functional towers. + Partner with functional leaders to support informed resourcing and sequencing decisions. + Provide recommendations to GBS leadership on staffing approaches, sequencing adjustments, or sourcing model considerations to manage risk and accelerate delivery. **5. Value Realization & Benefits Tracking** + Lead the development and execution of the GBS benefits realization framework, ensuring consistent tracking of financial and operational outcomes. + Validate and monitor savings, productivity improvements, service enhancements, and risk reduction in partnership with Finance. + Partner with Finance to ensure benefits are integrated into budgets and forecast cycles. **6. Risk, Issue & Dependency Management** + Identify portfolio-level risks, root causes, and cross-functional impacts. + Develop mitigation strategies and surface critical risks to leadership in a timely manner. + Set expectations for escalation discipline and governance rigor across the portfolio. **7. PMO Maturity & Capability Development** + Lead efforts to mature the GBS PMO function, advancing consistency, capability, and effectiveness across regions and towers. + Coach and mentor program managers, project managers, and workstream leads to strengthen delivery capability and judgment. + Embed continuous improvement practices (Lean, root cause analysis, Kaizen) into portfolio and project execution. + Promote a culture of accountability, transparency, and operational excellence across the GBS organization. Additional responsibilities as assigned. **Education** : Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred (Business, Operations, Finance, Engineering, or related field). **Years and Type of Experience** : + 10+ years of experience in portfolio management, PMO leadership, shared services, or business transformation roles. + Experience supporting GBS or enterprise transformation, ideally within a global, matrixed environment. + Strong understanding of project and change-management methodologies (PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, Lean Six Sigma). + Experience working alongside or supporting SAP S/4HANA, ERP transformations, or process redesign initiatives preferred. + Proven ability to influence senior leadership and drive alignment across diverse stakeholder groups. + Strong analytical skills with experience in portfolio tools (Power BI, Smartsheet, MS Project, JIRA). **Key Skills, Knowledge & Capabilities:** + Strategic and critical thinking + Executive presence and communication + Cross-functional influence and relationship building + Structured problem-solving and decision making + High attention to detail with ability to simplify complex information + Comfort with ambiguity and competing priorities + Ability to balance long-term vision with day-to-day execution + Strong leadership, coaching, and collaboration skills Dentsply Sirona is an Equal Opportunity employer.
