PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a global manufacturing leader to support advanced analytical measurement solutions. We are seeking a Gas Chromatograph Column Builder to join the Analytical Methods Development team—a hands-on role where precision, quality, and attention to detail directly impact customer success and product performance.

In this role, you’ll manufacture specialized gas chromatographic columns used to separate and measure chemical compositions, ensuring customer measurement requirements are met with accuracy and reliability.

What You’ll Do Day to Day

As a Gas Chromatograph Column Builder, you will work in a laboratory-manufacturing environment supporting production and customer service orders. Key responsibilities include:

Manufacture packed and micropacked gas chromatograph columns using the MAXUM Process Gas Chromatograph (PGC) platform

Fill, coat, and coil tubing of various lengths and sizes with specialized packing materials

Perform quality checks and testing to ensure columns meet customer and production standards

Dissolve chemicals with solvents and apply chemical coatings using precise calculations

Track, prioritize, and manage internal and external orders to meet delivery requirements

Support chemists and manufacturing staff with troubleshooting and quality issue resolution

Maintain compliance with safety requirements and proper use of laboratory PPE

Participate in Lean manufacturing and 6S initiatives to improve efficiency and processes

Organize and clean workspaces regularly to support a safe and efficient environment

Manage inventory of tubing, fittings, solvents, and packing materials; requisition supplies as needed

Develop and document ISO procedures and work instructions

You’ll collaborate daily with method development chemists, final test technicians, and customer/field service teams while reporting directly to the Analytical Methods Development Manager.

Required Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED

0.5+ years of small assembly manufacturing experience

Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel

Working knowledge of percentages and basic math

Strong mechanical aptitude and technical orientation

High attention to detail and comfort with repetitive work

Fluent English communication skills (written and verbal)

0.5+ years of experience using laboratory Personal Protective Equipment

Preferred Qualifications

0.5+ years building or assembling gas chromatographic packed columns

1.5+ years of small assembly manufacturing experience

1+ year of Infor LN MRP experience (requisitioning, shipping/receiving)

1+ year participating in Lean or 6S practices

High school science lab coursework (minimum one semester)

Familiarity with general lab equipment such as scales and graduated cylinders

Pay Details: $20.00 per hour
