Description
The Garnishment Specialist is responsible for managing and processing wage garnishments, including child support, tax levies, creditor garnishments, and other court-ordered deductions. This role ensures compliance with federal, state, and local laws, while maintaining accurate payroll records and providing support to employees and external agencies.

Key Responsibilities:
•\tReview and process incoming garnishment orders including wage garnishments, child support, tax levies, and bankruptcy orders.
•\tSet up and maintain garnishment deductions in the payroll system according to legal requirements.
•\tEnsure timely and accurate remittance of garnished wages to appropriate agencies.
•\tRespond to inquiries from courts, attorneys, government agencies, and employees regarding garnishment-related issues.
•\tMonitor and track all active garnishments and notify appropriate parties of changes, including terminations or suspensions.
•\tCollaborate with the payroll team to ensure proper withholding and compliance.
•\tMaintain documentation and records in accordance with company policy and legal requirements.
•\tAssist with audits and provide documentation related to garnishments.
•\tStay current on federal and state wage garnishment laws and updates.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
•\tHigh school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting or HR.
•\t1+ years of payroll experience, with a focus on garnishment processing preferred.
•\tKnowledge of federal and state garnishment laws and regulations.
•\tFamiliarity with Excel - specifically Pivot tables, V-Lookup and X-Lookup
•\tStrong attention to detail and organizational skills.
•\tExcellent communication and interpersonal skills.
•\tAbility to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $31.25 - $33.65/hr.
