**Job Title: Galvanizer** **Job Description** The HDG Operator is responsible for operating and monitoring equipment used in the hot-dip galvanizing process, ensuring steel tubing is coated to meet quality and safety standards. Galvanizing is a process used to protect steel or iron from corrosion by coating it with a layer of zinc. Hot-Dip Galvanizing involves cleaning the steel, fluxing, dipping in molten zinc, and cooling and inspection. **Responsibilities** + Operate and monitor galvanizing equipment including zinc pots, conveyors, and cooling systems. + Adjust temperatures and flow rates using computer consoles or manual controls. + Maintain proper operating conditions for HDG machinery. + Inspect galvanized products for coating thickness, adhesion, and surface finish. + Identify and report defects or inconsistencies in the galvanizing process. + Perform routine tests and measurements using gauges and visual inspection. + Follow all safety protocols including PPE usage and handling of molten zinc. + Conduct basic maintenance and cleaning of HDG equipment. + Report equipment malfunctions or unsafe conditions immediately. **Essential Skills** + General labor skills. + Hand and power tool proficiency. + Packaging and loading experience. + Production knowledge. + Tape measure proficiency. + Experience in manufacturing or metal processing is preferred. + Ability to work in high-temperature environments and around molten materials. + Basic computer skills and mechanical aptitude. + Forklift operation skills. + General production and unloading experience. + Mechanical skills including deburring and grinding. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Forklift and crane certification may be required. + Attention to detail is crucial. + Team-focused mindset. + Entry-level candidates willing to learn more about manufacturing are encouraged to apply. + Previous manufacturing experience may be helpful. **Why Work Here** Enjoy an hourly incentive bonus once hired on, along with a 401k plan with a 4.5% match. Employees are required to wear PPE including heat-resistant gloves, safety glasses, steel-toe boots, and possibly face shields or aprons. Exposure to zinc fumes, flux chemicals, and cleaning agents is common, and safety protocols must be strictly followed. Workers may handle steel tubing before and after galvanizing, which can be sharp or coated in residue. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract position based out of Rochelle, Illinois. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $20.35 - $20.35/hr.
