We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Utility-Scale Solar Electrical Estimator to support the development of large-scale photovoltaic (PV) projects ranging from 120 MW to 190+ MW. This role is responsible for producing accurate, competitive, and comprehensive electrical cost estimates that support project feasibility, bid competitiveness, and successful execution. The ideal candidate brings strong electrical expertise, experience with utility-scale solar systems, and the ability to interpret complex engineering documents while collaborating across engineering, procurement, and construction teams.
ResponsibilitiesPrepare detailed electrical estimates for utility-scale solar projects (120–190+ MW), including DC collection, AC collection, medium-voltage systems, and utility interconnection.Perform accurate quantity takeoffs for conduit, cable, terminations, grounding, equipment pads, trenching, racking electrical components, and materials.Develop labor estimates based on crew makeup, productivity rates, equipment needs, and site conditions.Evaluate and level subcontractor and vendor quotes for materials, equipment, and specialty services.Maintain and update internal cost databases, labor units, and historical project benchmarks.Review engineering drawings, one-lines, specifications, and design packages to identify scope, constructability issues, and potential cost impacts.Coordinate with project managers, field supervisors, and engineering teams to validate installation methods and identify value-engineering opportunities.Identify risks, design gaps, and clarifications needed to ensure accurate bid proposals.Prepare bid packages, proposal narratives, and scope clarifications for clients and general contractors.Participate in pre-bid meetings, site walks, and RFI development.Support project teams during estimate handoff, budget validation, procurement planning, and change-order pricing.Track actual field performance and costs to refine future estimates and improve accuracy.Essential SkillsExperience in electrical estimation and construction.Proficiency in renewable solar estimation.Knowledge of DC circuits and electrical circuit design.Ability to perform estimating and cost development for utility-scale solar projects.Additional Skills & QualificationsStrong understanding of electrical construction processes.Ability to interpret complex engineering documents.Experience with bidding and proposal preparation.Work EnvironmentThe position offers flexibility with options to work in-office, from home, or remotely.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $40.00 - $60.00/hr.
