Job Description

Our internship program offers a challenging hands-on structured experience. You will be working in conjunction with Expeditors' employees learning the process, terminology, and skills required to be successful in a fast-paced operation handling a varied customer base.

This is a paid position and typically is 3 to 4 months in duration.We are looking for someone that can work 40 hours a week, overtime if required.The schedule will be Monday to Friday.This is NOT a remote position and is located at our Warehouse in BloomingdaleThe pay for the internship will be $20/hour.This will be a dual role splitting time in our Distribution and Domestic Transportation Departments

Some of the job functions include, but not limited to:

Ensure smooth and timely freight process flowEnsure accurate and timely data entry into our operational systemTrack and Trace TRANSCON (Domestic) Files and reportingUse export TRANSCON Workflow on daily basisDaily process and input of all customer orders and distribution accountsProvide daily operational reports that are accurate and timelyGenerate all related paperwork and necessary information required for customer work orders, checks all orders for special requests and posts inventory recordsPerform accurate and timely data entry for receiving, order allocation, shipping and inventory managementEnsure compliance at all times by following government regulations and company policies

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Candidate must be available for 3-4 monthsMust be able to commute to BloomingdaleHigh School Degree or equivalent requiredMust be legally authorized to work in the United StatesMust not require future sponsorship for employment visaMust have the ability to work overtime in support of the department needsFluent in English, both written and verbalGood computer skills (Word, Excel, and familiarity with PowerPoint)Comfortable with numbers and basic mathematical skillsAbility to multi-task and prioritize throughout the workday while remaining focused and organizedDemonstrated ability to be pro-active in thought and actionStrong organizational skillsAnalytical with a strong attention to detailEffective interpersonal skills, including proven ability to listen, comprehend, effectively communicate clearly and concisely to obtain positive resultsAbility to work independently and in a collaborative team environmentWilling to pitch in and help on last minute projects or assist team membersHas a demonstrated strong work ethic, and reliabilityComfortable working in a professional business environment and follow the dress codeProven ability and desire to learn new software and technologies

Associates or Undergraduate Degree Preferred
