Job Description About the Role: We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Full‑Stack Drupal Engineer to join a fast‑moving digital team supporting high‑visibility web initiatives in the education domain. This engineer will work closely with an established Principal Developer/Architect, serving as both a technical contributor and a key support resource to increase delivery capacity, accelerate project timelines, and ensure continuity within mission‑critical Drupal environments. This role spans new development, ongoing platform enhancement, feature delivery, maintenance, troubleshooting, and cross‑team collaboration across both onshore and offshore groups. The engineer will immediately contribute to an active roadmap for 2026 and beyond, supporting several upcoming initiatives and integrating with enterprise mobile and emerging technology teams. Key Responsibilities: Drupal Development & Architecture Support • Build, enhance, and maintain Drupal‑based web applications, working within the Acquia Cloud platform. • Work with the Lead Architect to support architectural decisions, implement best practices, and help scale delivery across the broader product ecosystem. • Assist the Principal Developer by taking ownership of mid‑ to senior‑level development tasks, helping free capacity for higher‑level architectural initiatives. • Develop new features, modify custom modules, and implement backend logic in PHP and Drupal frameworks. Full‑Stack Engineering • Contribute to both front‑end and back‑end development within Drupal. • Translate design assets and wireframes (when applicable) into functional components. • Collaborate with UI/UX and offshore front‑end resources to ensure consistency, scalability, and performance. Cross‑Team Delivery & Collaboration • Work closely with onshore product owners, scrum masters, QA engineers, and mobile/emerging tech teams on multi‑track delivery. • Participate in sprint ceremonies, backlog refinement, technical reviews, and collaborative planning sessions. • Coordinate daily with offshore developers and QA analysts, ensuring smooth handoffs and communication. Maintenance, Production Support & Continuous Improvement • Troubleshoot defects, performance issues, and system inconsistencies in multiple Drupal environments. • Provide ongoing maintenance, production support, and enhancement activities. • Contribute to modernization efforts across mobile and chatbot initiatives, as cross‑initiative participation may be required. Quality, Reliability & Best Practices • Ensure code quality through documentation, adherence to Drupal/PHP standards, and proper Git workflows. • Collaborate with dedicated offshore QA testers, providing context, reviewing test outcomes, and ensuring readiness for deployment. Skills and Requirements • 6–7+ years of hands‑on experience with Drupal (Drupal 8/9/10 preferred). • Strong full‑stack engineering experience across front‑end and back‑end, including component development, theming, APIs, and backend logic. • Expert‑level PHP knowledge and experience working with Acquia Cloud Platform. • Experience creating, modifying, and deploying custom Drupal modules. • Strong understanding of integrating Drupal with external/internal systems. • Experience working with distributed teams, including offshore development and QA teams. • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum processes and collaboration with product owners and scrum masters. • Strong communication skills—capable of discussing technical details with the Architect and translating complex concepts for business stakeholders. • Experience in education, healthcare, finance, or any regulated industry (preferred but not required). • Familiarity with mobile integration and cross‑platform initiative collaboration. • Prior experience in environments with high activity, fast‑moving roadmaps, and cross‑team dependencies.
