For more information about Bob Evans Farms, Inc., visit www.bobevansgrocery.com . **Responsibilities** The Food Safety Quality Excellence Coordinator develops, implements, and revises programming to ensure the control of organizational Standard Operating Procedures, forms, and records. This position will participate in overseeing food safety and quality activities within the respective site and is responsible for ensuring that the organization is operating correctly and consistently within the current programs and procedures. **Accountabilities:** + Review and maintain paperwork including those related to quality, food standards and regulatory program compliance (USDA/FDA). Including but not limited to HACCP plan, SQF audit, food defense program, GMP programs, and customer specific documentation. + Work with regulatory agencies in the event of non-conformance situation and escalates issues to plant leadership as needed. Support in the investigation of such situations and executes corrective and preventative actions. + Review of USDA packets and release USDA product including completion of all associated internal documentation. + Participate in internal facility and internal corporate audits, external audits including but not limited to third party, regulatory, or customer audits as requested by the QFSE Manager. + Conduct or participate in consumer complaint investigations and work with cross-functional teams to find and implement solutions. + Participate in the creation and implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs), SSOPs Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures, One Point Lessons and work instructions and maintain storage of such procedures, forms, records, and other documents to be retrieved when needed. + Support all QFSE initiatives including participation on such teams as the Food Defense Team, participation in daily sensory panels, and support for new employee orientation, QFSE job specific and QFSE programs training and onboarding when needed. + Perform environmental sampling ranging from swabbing, air sampling, and water sampling etc as needed. Preparation, documentation, and shipment of samples and record results. Communicate results and through root cause analysis determine when corrective action is needed and suggest corrective action. + Provide support for Quality Technicians including providing coverage for off shifts, holidays, or weekends as necessary. Serve as back up to the Quality Supervisor or Manager as needed. + Adhere to safe work practices, follow GMPs, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained. + All other duties as assigned. **Qualifications** Education Level: + Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science (or related field) preferred. Experience: + Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in a food manufacturing plant environment + Supervisory or managerial experience + Experience with and understanding of manufacturing processes, GMPs, food safety, statistics and laboratory techniques + Or equivalent combination of education or experience Skills: + Ability to work collaboratively and cohesively with company peers and business partners. + Strong interpersonal skills - Listening and informing others effectively. + Ability to anticipate work needs and follow through with minimal direction. Must be a self-motivated self-starter. + Must possess the ability to always maintain external and internal confidentiality. + Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) + Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. + Ability to write reports and correspondence routinely.
