Our team is responsible for helping Customer Experience teams achieve their best, by building intelligent interfaces that surface AI-powered insights and automate repetitive work. As an Engineer on our team, you'll be responsible for developing frontend products in collaboration with our Engineers, ML Scientists and Designers, delivering high-quality AI-powered interfaces to our customers at a scale that most companies only dream of.

- Build responsive, accessible, and performant user interfaces using React and TypeScript
- Work closely with engineers, designers, and applied scientists to create intuitive experiences for AI-powered features
- Contribute to and work with Zendesk Garden, our open-source design system
- Actively contribute to discussions about technical design, architecture patterns, and frontend best practices
- Investigate and resolve production issues, focusing on performance and user experience
- Champion initiatives to improve code quality, testing coverage, and developer experience
- Actively collaborate in evolving workflows and processes together with the team
- Mentor less experienced colleagues and contribute to knowledge sharing
What you bring to the role
- At least 4 years building modern web applications
- Proficiency in TypeScript and React
- Experience with state management (Redux, Redux Saga, or similar patterns)
- Strong understanding of web fundamentals: HTML, CSS, browser APIs
- Interest in building interfaces for AI/ML-powered features
- Passion for user experience, accessibility, and frontend performance
- Exposure to testing frameworks (Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress) is an advantage
- A self-managed and dedicated approach with the ability to work independently
- Strong problem-solving capabilities and flexibility to deal with changing priorities

- Our frontend is written in React and TypeScript
- We use Redux and Redux Saga for state management, React Query for data fetching
- Our UI is built with styled-components and Zendesk Garden (our open-source design system)
- Our tests use Jest, React Testing Library, and Cypress for E2E
- Our servers live in AWS, deployed to Kubernetes using Docker
- Our logging and monitoring use Datadog and Sentry

Where We Work:
We're rapidly growing our teams in Lisbon, Portugal, and Krakow, Poland. We have exciting next-generation ML products that are already in use by customers in the banking and finance area, online and offline retailers, and even national postal services. You will work with a driven team, passionate about delivering the right experience to end-users using sophisticated and pioneering ML technology.
Hybrid: In this role, our hybrid experience is designed at the team level to give you a rich onsite experience packed with connection, collaboration, learning, and celebration - while also giving you flexibility to work remotely for part of the week. This role must attend our local office for part of the week. The specific in-office schedule is to be determined by the hiring manager.
