The Oasis at Death Valley is situated in a lush, spring-fed desert oasis, surrounded by the vast and arid desert of Death Valley National Park. The Oasis operates the historic AAA Four Diamond Inn and Ranch, restaurants, gift shops, and the world's lowest elevation golf course. Both hotels are open year-round and feature swimming pools fed by naturally warm local springs.

 

We’re hiring a Front Desk Supervisor to Live. Work. Explore. in Death Valley National Park!

 

Job Summary:
Front Desk Supervisor is responsible for managing all aspects of the front desk including guest check in/check out, training new employees, handling guest complaints and managing reservations.

 

The Details:
Position Type: Full-time Year-round
Start Dates: As soon as possible on next available check in date (approximately three weeks)
Pay: $18.15/hr
Schedule: Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days/per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays)

Responsibilities

Fills in for the Front Desk Manager in their absence.Assist in training new employees on computer system, Front Office and accounting procedures.Assist in the resolution of guest problems.Become proficient in check-ins, checkout procedures and reservations. Change existing reservations to satisfy/accommodate guests.Block rooms for future guests and/or groups.Maintain bank, receiving cash, giving change and balancing at the end of shift.Answer phones in a professional and courteous manner.Create master folios for Group Sales, post charges and payments. Perform additional tasks/duties as assigned.All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Prior Hotel Front Desk experience strongly preferred.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Requires strong organizational skills.Must be able to work independently.Ability to attend to more than one task at a time.Must be flexible and open to changes in procedures.Ability to work quickly and thoroughly when under pressure.Pleasant personality and the ability to deal with a wide variety of people.Computer or hotel computer experience.Must be able to meet and maintain grooming standards.

 

Physical Requirements include:

 

Ability to work standing for eight hours, and must have the endurance to function in a fast-paced and high-stress environment.
