Responsibilities
+ Aircraft Mechanic II (AME) or Aircraft Mechanic Egress Contractor personnel will be required to service or inspect egress systems, ejection seat pan assembly, ejection seats or explosive system devices. Contractor personnel will render safe egress/explosive system devices which have been involved in mishaps and dispose of according to instructions. Adequate experience performing the duties of the labor category as described in the Department of Labor functional description. Service Contract Act (SCA) – 23022
+ This F-18 Aircraft Mechanic Egress position is located on North Island Naval Air Station.
+ The Aircraft Mechanic Egress (AME) performs organizational, intermediate and limited depot level maintenance to include inspection, operational test, repair, modification and troubleshooting on all assigned aircraft, components and equipment. Applies advanced technical knowledge to solve complex problems and to provide technical assistance, guidance and instruction to other employees as needed.
+ Maintains assigned aircraft in accordance with Navy, manufacturer and company distributors.
+ Key Responsibilities:
+ Responsible for all egress system on and off equipment maintenance on F-18 models.
+ Removes, transports, inspects, repairs and reinstalls ejection seats.
+ Inspects, repairs and cleans seat harnesses.
+ Inventories, stores, removes and replaces seat CAD/PAD explosive items
+ Maintains environmental system on F-18 models.
+ Maintains, inspects canopy explosive devices.
+ Maintains and inspects on board oxygen generating system (OBOGS) & Liquid Oxygen (LOX).
+ Performs aircraft scheduled/unscheduled on and off equipment maintenance.
+ Performs aircraft corrosion control procedures to include wash, wipe down, polish and vacuum.
+ Operates GSE, flight line vehicles and other support equipment as required.
+ Drives tugs for the purpose of towing equipment and aircraft.
+ Annotates maintenance actions in aircraft forms and VIDS/MAF System.
+ Orders aircraft/equipment parts.
+ Supervises/assists in aircraft/equipment movement and flight line foreign object prevention walks.
+ Practices good housekeeping, tool control, FOD awareness/prevention and safety always.
+ Shall perform other job-related duties as may be assigned.
+ Administration duties:
+ Comply with all required trainings and other administrative functions required by the company and the costumer.
+ Assist in maintaining NAMP Programs, ensure contract artisans follows Ground Operating Procedures, and ensure personnel comply with safety procedures.
Qualifications
+ Minimum Qualifications
+ Must have a minimum of 4 years relevant experience.
+ Must be a U.S. Citizen
+ Must have a valid Driver’s License.
+ Must be able to speak, read and write and understand English.
+ Must be able to meet physical requirements associated with and / or pass any medical examination requirements related to performing daily assigned task.
+ Must past pre-employment background check.
+ Must past pre-employment and post-employment drug testing.
+ Must be able to attain and maintain an Active Secret Clearance.
+ Must Have complete Aviation Structure Mechanic (Safety Equipment) AME A school or outside equivalent course.
+ Must be able to maintain DoD Common Access Card (CAC)
+ Other Requirements:
+ Security Clearance
+ U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will require the ability to access US only data system

+ Working knowledge with Advance Skill Management (ASM) or willing to learn the functions.
+ To be able to perform research, a working knowledge with the following is preferred: electronic publications like Interactive Electronic Technical Manual (IETM), knowledge in navigating NATEC website to access Technical Publications, service bulletins, technical publications, blueprints, IPB (Illustrated Parts Breakdown), MIM (Maintenance Instruction), LES (Local Engineering Specifications), LPS (Local Process Specifications) and TEI (Temporary Engineering Instructions).
+ Business Partner/Effective Communicator:
+ English language skills to communicate with costumers.
+ Strong communicator must be able to communicate clearly both in writing and orally.
+ Ability to train others.
+ Customer service oriented, detail focused, pro-active behavior, multi-task capability.

+ The successful candidate’s starting pay will be based on the current rate agreed in the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) for this site.
+ The following salary range is intended to display the current per hour rate for this job.
+ USD $45.67.
