Job Title: FPGA Engineer
Job Description
This role involves working as an Electrical Engineer with a focus on DO-254 experience. The candidate should have previously navigated the DO-254 processes and demonstrated expertise in firmware development. The position requires collaboration with the FAA and Transportation Authority, exploring high-level concepts within the DO-254 Design Assurance Guidance for Airborne Electronic Hardware specification.
Responsibilities
Develop firmware using VHDL.Engage in the DO-254 certification process.Create verification test-benches to simulate firmware code using Siemens Modelsim/Questa, Synopsys VCS, or equivalent tools.Design FPGA using software tools such as Xilinx Vivado, Microsemi Libero, Intel Quartus, and Synplify.Perform FPGA timing closure, power estimate, and pin assignments.Debug hardware and firmware issues in the lab using test equipment like oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and signal generators.Work independently on firmware development tasks, seeking out information as needed.Adhere to established firmware development best practices.Develop firmware in both Windows and Linux environments.Document moderately complex engineering designs.Communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally.Organize tasks efficiently and effectively.Collaborate effectively within a team and manage multiple tasks.Essential Skills

DO-254 experience, which can be substituted with Automotive or Med Device Standards.Knowledge of Automotive Safety Integrity Levels (ASIL D–A).Understanding of hardware lifecycle and Part 5 (hardware development).Experience with System safety assessment and HARA (Hazard Analysis & Risk Assessment).Familiarity with FPGA/ASIC guidance.Work Environment
