Join a dynamic team as an FPGA Engineer, where you will have the opportunity to design, develop, validate, and verify FPGA and PLD systems supporting ASIC and FPGA-based infrastructures. This role involves hands-on development work contributing directly to mission-critical aerospace and defense systems.

ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop FPGA, PLD, infrastructure software, and application software for ASIC and FPGA systems.Derive software and firmware requirements based on unit specifications.Perform architecture design, coding, integration, and verification on target hardware.Develop and maintain low-level infrastructure components, including device drivers, BSP updates, and boot code.Support system performance, debugging, and verification in lab and hardware environments.Collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering teams to support avionics and aerospace programs.Essential Skills5+ years of professional FPGA development experience.Experience in supporting aerospace, avionics, or defense programs.5 years of FPGA/ASIC development lifecycles.Active Secret Clearance.Undergraduate or Graduate degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with Xilinx FPGAs.Experience with AXI Master RTL and AXI Slave RTL.Familiarity with SpaceWire and DO-254 development standards.Basic PCB design experience.Work Environment

This position offers an onsite work environment in El Segundo, supporting a Collins Aerospace program. The role is hands-on, involving FPGA and low-level infrastructure development. Engineers will work directly in a high-trust, high-visibility environment, contributing to mission-critical aerospace and defense systems. The contract structure provides top-end hourly pay, flexibility, and stability, all while maintaining technical depth.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $90.00/hr.
