FP&A Analyst
Job Title FP&A Analyst Location Springfield, CT Position Type Interim, Full-Time Reports To Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Job Summary Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Interim Assistant Vice President (AVP) of Finance to support the finance function during a critical interim period. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in full-cycle accounting, financial leadership, and strategic financial management. This role plays a key part in maintaining financial stability, ensuring compliance, and providing data-driven insights to senior leadership. Key Responsibilities + Oversee the full-cycle accounting process, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, and financial reporting. + Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, as well as internal financial policies and procedures. + Prepare and present financial statements, budget reports, forecasts, and executive-level financial analysis for senior leadership and governing bodies. + Lead the annual budget process, including development, implementation, monitoring, and variance analysis. + Provide strategic financial guidance and decision support to department leaders and operational teams. + Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team while promoting continuous improvement and best practices. + Coordinate with external auditors and manage all aspects of the annual audit process to ensure timely and accurate completion. + Design, implement, and refine financial policies, controls, and procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. + Support strategic planning initiatives through financial modeling, scenario analysis, and risk assessment. + Monitor cash flow, investments, and debt obligations to maintain organizational financial health. + Identify financial risks and develop proactive mitigation strategies. + Oversee grant and restricted-fund management, ensuring accurate allocation, compliance, and reporting. + Partner closely with Human Resources and other administrative departments to optimize payroll, benefits, and financial operations. + Support ERP systems usage, optimization, and implementation initiatives as needed. Qualifications + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or MBA strongly preferred. + Minimum of 7–10 years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including senior leadership responsibilities. + Demonstrated expertise in full-cycle accounting and financial management. + Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, internal controls, and budgeting. + Proven ability to analyze complex financial data and translate it into actionable insights. + Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite (advanced Excel skills preferred). + Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage executive stakeholders. + Demonstrated leadership, team development, and change-management capabilities. + High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail. + Experience managing grants, restricted funds, or external funding compliance is preferred. + Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
