Job Title: Foundry Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and innovative Foundry Engineer to join our dynamic team. This full-time, on-site role is based in Racine, WI, and focuses on developing and optimizing manufacturing processes. The successful candidate will evaluate production operations, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and identify strategies for improving efficiency and quality, while ensuring adherence to industry standards and safety guidelines.
Responsibilities
Evaluate, improve, and document manufacturing processes.Analyze manufacturing process flows for quality enhancement, cost reduction, and throughput improvement.Understand basic metallurgy principles and their impact on aluminum castings in a permanent mold setting.Apply solidification techniques to improve casting output and reduce scrap.Enhance throughput in the machining of production castings while maintaining part quality.Confer with vendors to determine product specifications, arrange equipment or material purchases, and evaluate products according to quality standards.Provide engineering support to troubleshoot and resolve technical problems in the production department.Support company policies, procedures, goals, and objectives, along with good manufacturing practices.Lead cross-functional projects within the area of responsibility.Recognize personal capabilities and take initiative for continual improvement.Essential Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.3+ years of experience in aluminum casting or foundry operations, with a preference for permanent mold experience.Strong knowledge of aluminum alloys, heat treatment, and casting metallurgy preferred.Proficiency in CAD software and process simulation tools, such as MAGMASOFT and SolidWorks.Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience dealing with aluminum metallurgy.Mechanical aptitude and knowledge of manufacturing concepts.Ability to prioritize multiple projects.Solidification modeling and lean manufacturing experience.Strong customer relations skills.Work Environment
The role involves a balanced mix of hands-on involvement and desk work, with extensive support on the production floor. The successful candidate will work closely with the team, contributing to a collaborative and dynamic environment. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Racine, WI.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $40.86 - $50.48/hr.
