We are seeking a dedicated Formulation Chemist to develop and optimize pharmaceutical formulations, primarily focusing on liquid and semi-solid products. This role involves designing and conducting laboratory experiments, preparing development batches, and evaluating packaging components to ensure that all formulations meet stability, regulatory, and GMP requirements. The chemist will document development work, troubleshoot process issues, and collaborate closely with production, quality, and cross-functional teams.
ResponsibilitiesDevelop new formulations and scalable manufacturing processes.Prepare lab-scale batches, weigh and mix raw materials, and record observations.Conduct stability studies and physical testing of formulations.Evaluate and select excipients, APIs, and packaging components.Author protocols, reports, batch records, and SOPs.Support scale-up, tech transfer, and production troubleshooting.Provide technical support during manufacturing of stability batches.Ensure GMP, safety, and regulatory compliance.Participate in internal and external project meetings.Essential SkillsExperience in formulation, packaging, and process development of liquid and/or semi-solid dosage forms.Proficient understanding of regulatory requirements.Project management experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.Analytical chemistry and quality control expertise.Additional Skills & Qualifications2 years of working experience in a pharmaceutical formulation laboratory.Proven time management skills with the ability to balance competing priorities in a deadline-driven environment.Experience working in a self-directed team environment.Ability to work under minimal supervision.Work EnvironmentThis position requires working onsite 5 days a week, with prolonged durations of sitting and standing. The role involves frequent repetitive work in a collaborative, GMP-focused environment, providing real ownership and growth opportunities.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Cambridge, ON.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr.
