Forklift Technician
**Job Title: Forklift Technician** Job Description Under the direct supervision of the Shop Supervisor or Lead Technician, the Material Handling Technician is responsible for performing periodic maintenance, repair, replacement, and troubleshooting on various models of material handling equipment. You must be proficient with data input or paperwork required to perform all job requirements. The role involves maintaining service and supporting material handling equipment at the internal customer location in a timely and cost-effective manner to meet customer requirements. Responsibilities + Repair or replace major system components, including circuit boards and other electrical parts, hydraulic, mechanical, L.P. systems, power steering and transmissions, engines with limited supervision. + Troubleshoot and diagnose most material handling equipment components. + Perform engine tune-ups on most makes of equipment without supervision. + Perform proper preventive maintenance in a timely manner. + Troubleshoot and diagnose complex electrical systems on IC and electric trucks. + Perform and maintain proper battery maintenance on electric equipment. + Use and maintain all specialty trade tools properly. + Operate service van in a clean, safe, and secure manner following all required safety rules. + Follow all safety procedures in performing work and company policies. + Demonstrate exceptional customer service skills. + Identify and order all necessary replacement parts. + Maintain a valid driver's license at all times as driving is an essential function. + Collaborate with all departments and employees to ensure quality customer service. + Report all accidents, injuries, safety violations, and unsafe working conditions. Essential Skills + Forklift repair + Troubleshooting + Hydraulics + Schematic reading + Electrical and mechanical system repair + Forklift maintenance and repair Additional Skills & Qualifications + High school diploma, G.E.D., or tech school graduate preferred + Minimum two years of experience in repair and maintenance on material handling equipment + Ability to read and understand electrical and hydraulic system schematics + Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable assistance + Capability to become certified to operate equipment + Willingness to frequently push, pull, kneel, bend, and reach + Maintain an adequate set of personal tools as required + Valid Driver License + Customer service skills and abilities + Basic computer knowledge including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) Why Work Here? Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Desoto, Texas. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $37.00/hr.
