Job Title: Forklift Operator
Job Description

Join our team as a Forklift Operator, where you will work primarily on the loading dock handling large piping pieces for industrial applications. You will be involved in pulling orders and preparing these products for shipment using RF scanners. This role requires physical strength, as you will lift and palletize materials, shrink-wrap them onto their respective pallets, and assist in moving materials into trucks. The position necessitates sit-down forklift experience, operating battery-powered lifts in our newest location.

ResponsibilitiesOperate sit-down forklifts to handle large metal piping pieces, ranging from smaller systems to full pallets weighing hundreds of pounds.Restock the warehouse and manually pull parts, preparing 20-35 UPS/FedEx orders per day.Assist customers who walk in to pick up parts and perform cleaning duties as necessary.Ensure efficient and safe use of shrink wrapping equipment.Maintain inventory control and conduct inventory counts.Essential Skills3+ years of forklift and order pulling experience.Proven experience in material handling, warehouse, and distribution environments.Ability to operate RF scanners and use computer skills.Experience in loading trucks via forklift and handling shipping and receiving tasks.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with pallet jacks and unloading.Proficiency in packaging and general labor tasks.Experience in production and cycle counting.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

The warehouse is bright, well-spaced, and well-lit, although it does not have air conditioning. There are large fans to maintain comfort. The facility currently employs approximately 14 individuals. The day shift runs from 7 AM to 5 PM, with flexibility required to start at 6 AM when necessary. The afternoon shift operates from 4 PM to 12 AM. Punctuality is closely monitored.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Richmond, Virginia.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
