**Job Title: Forklift Operator** **Job Description** As a Forklift Operator, you will utilize the sit-down forklift to efficiently move products through the manufacturing facility. You will be responsible for counterbalancing products, using RF scanners, unloading products into coolers, and loading products in a three-rack storage system using a reach truck. You will also load and unload trucks in the bay area, utilize computer systems and email for basic functions, and use scanners to pick orders according to pick sheets. The role requires comfort working in cooler temperatures and around raw meat products. **Responsibilities** + Operate sit-down forklifts to move products throughout the manufacturing facility. + Counterbalance and manage products using forklifts. + Utilize RF scanners for inventory and order picking. + Unload products into cooler storage areas. + Operate reach trucks to load products three racks high. + Load and unload trucks in the bay area efficiently. + Use computer systems and email for basic tasks. + Pick orders using scanners according to pick sheets. + Maintain cleanliness in the facility by cleaning, sweeping, mopping, and removing debris. + Work comfortably in cooler temperatures ranging from 26-28 degrees. **Essential Skills** + Sit-down forklift experience. + Reach truck experience. + RF scanner proficiency. + Material handling expertise. + Comfort with foods manufacturing and cold storage environments. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Experience in counterbalancing products. + Ability to work around raw meat products. **Why Work Here?** You will work in a union environment that offers opportunities for pay increases and comprehensive benefits such as health, dental, and vision after meeting the probationary period. Employees must adhere to guidelines prohibiting nail polish, jewelry, piercings, fake nails, embellishments, fur, and loose items. Hair must be tied back, and beard nets are required. Jackets and boots are provided to ensure comfort while working around raw and cooked meat and poultry products. Employees will receive training on GMP guidelines. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of South Holland, IL. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $19.50 - $20.50/hr.
