Job Description

Join our team as a Forklift Operator working in a Cross-Dock environment. You will spend approximately 95% of your time operating a forklift and 5% hand-bombing freight. Your responsibilities include reading printed manifests to strip and load trailers, handling a variety of products ranging from small food items to large, fragile spools of cable. A good understanding of LTL (Less than Truckload) practices and proficiency with forklifts is essential to avoid damage to freight or trucks.

ResponsibilitiesOperate a Sit-down Counterbalance Forklift, primarily a Toyota Electric (3-wheel) and occasionally a Toyota Propane.Read and interpret manifests, BOLs, and other documents to ensure accurate loading and unloading of trailers.Handle and move diverse products safely, ensuring no damage occurs.Communicate effectively with team members and drivers.Perform shipping and receiving duties, including paperwork processing.Take ownership of any mistakes and rectify them promptly to prevent a domino effect in logistics.Essential SkillsMinimum 1-2 years of Sit-down Forklift Experience.3rd Party Forklift Certification.TDG and WHMIS Certification.Minimum 1-2 years of LTL/Cross-Dock Experience.Good reading and writing skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsPre-employment check requiredExperience with past paperwork on dock is a plus.Access to a car is ideal due to transit accessibility.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

Work in a fast-paced transportation freight company located in the Northwest Industrial Park region of Edmonton. The facility handles 10-20 trailers per shift, dealing with a variety of products. The role requires attention to detail and accountability. The shift is Monday to Friday, 11:30 am to 8:00/9:00 pm, depending on volumes. The dress code includes steel-toed boots (provided by the candidate), a safety vest (provided), and recommended gloves.

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $26.00/hr.
