**Job Title: Forklift Operator** **Job Description** We are seeking a skilled forklift operator to efficiently manage the loading and unloading of goods from containers using a propane SDCB forklift. The role involves operating the forklift approximately 80% of the shift, requiring quick yet safe maneuvering in tight quarters. You will handle various freight items, some of which may be heavy and oddly shaped. The operator will use paper shipping documents and eventually transition to complex digital shipping software. The facility is open, but high volume demands precise navigation through tight spaces. **Work Environment** The work environment is fast-paced, operating 24 hours depending on truck arrivals and departures. It is busy with incoming and outgoing trucks and drivers, requiring forklifts to move quickly and safely. The dock features over 50 doors, handling diverse products from fridges to tires. The team is multicultural and independent, with approximately 50 operators per shift. Steel-toed boots are required, and the shifts run Sunday to Thursday from 11 pm to 7 am, with a premium for graveyard shifts. **Responsibilities** + Operate a propane SDCB forklift to load and unload freight from containers. + Ensure safe and efficient movement of freight around tight quarters. + Handle a variety of freight, some of which may be heavy and differently shaped. + Utilize paper shipping documents for product accuracy, transitioning to digital software soon. + Navigate through an open facility with high volume and tight corners. + Manage shipments ranging from small to large. **Essential Skills** + Minimum of 1 year of experience operating an SDCB forklift in an LTL environment. + Valid forklift ticket. + Proficient computer skills. + Ability to lift 50 pounds repetitively. + Reliable transportation. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + 2-5 years of experience in LTL. + Leadership experience. + Familiarity with Truckmate software. + Ability to work independently and take initiative. + Comfortable with shop talk and good English communication. **Why Work Here?** We offer excellent growth opportunities with a 3% annual wage increase and bonuses between $300 and $ 500 yearly.
