Forklift Mechanic
**Job Title: Heavy Equipment Mechanic** **Schedule** **1st Shift — Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM** (Some overtime available based on seniority.) **About the Role** We are looking for a skilled **Heavy Equipment Mechanic** with strong experience in diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and forklift/heavy equipment repair. In this role, you will perform both corrective and preventative maintenance on a fleet of 270+ pieces of diesel-powered equipment at our yard. If you have 4+ years of hands-on experience working with forklifts, heavy machinery, and diesel engines—and you thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented shop environment—this is a great opportunity to advance your career. **Key Responsibilities** + Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on a large fleet of diesel-powered equipment. + Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair forklifts, heavy machinery, and pickup trucks. + Service and repair hydraulic and electronic systems. + Utilize a work order and preventative maintenance system on a weekly basis. + Complete all repairs safely, efficiently, and to high-quality standards. **Required Skills & Experience** + **4+ years** of experience in diesel, heavy equipment, or forklift repair. + Strong troubleshooting abilities across hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems. + Proven experience with diesel engine repairs and maintenance. + Ability to obtain a **TWIC card** within the first few weeks of employment. + Must have personal tools. **Preferred Experience** + Experience working with equipment from brands like **Volvo, Kubota, Detroit, and Caterpillar** **Why Join Us?** + Be part of a team that values **communication, cohesion, and a strong shop culture** . + Work within a **unionized environment** offering: + **Annual pay increases** + **Comprehensive healthcare coverage** + Join a supportive team committed to continuous improvement and collaboration. **Work Environment** + Dynamic shop environment with equipment ranging from early 90s models to brand-new machinery. **Job Type & Location** This is a Permanent position based out of Philadelphia, PA. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $58240.00 - $76960.00/yr. long term, stable opp - room for growth OT ongoing training **Workplace Type** This is a fully onsite position in Philadelphia,PA. **Application Deadline** This position is anticipated to close on Feb 27, 2026. **About Aerotek:** We know that finding work is hard, and finding meaningful work is harder.
