SUMMARY: This position is responsible for inspecting and repairing vehicles, machinery, and light trucks.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Inspects and performs maintenance on assigned equipment and facilities including but not limited to forklifts, warehouse, vehicles, and machinery.
+ Performs assigned repairs and maintenance such as tune-ups and oil change, checks tires and brakes, replaces spark plugs, replace batteries, starters, lights and engages in other similar tasks.
+ Identifies mechanical problems visually and/or with computer diagnostic equipment.
+ Performs test on tools and equipment to ensure repairs are completed properly including test drives.
+ Assists in inventory of replacement parts and equipment.
+ Assists in maintaining repair log for all equipment.
+ Advises Facilities and Maintenance Foreman of equipment and facilities malfunctions that may require purchase of new parts, pieces, or equipment.
+ Maintains a clean, safe work area by returning tools to proper location.
+ Assist in coaching new hires during the on-boarding process.
+ Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
+ Preferred: Associate's Degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or six months to one year related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
+ Computer skills required: Time & Labor Management System; and Electronic Mail Software (Outlook).
+ Other skills required:
+ Excellent written and oral communication skills.
+ Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
+ Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
+ Ability to work closely with peers on team orientated goals.
+ Ability to follow company directives and instruction.
+ In-depth knowledge of vehicle diagnostic equipment and mechanical systems.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
+ Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel or crawl.
+ Occasionally exposed to the following outside weather conditions: extreme heat and/or cold, wet and/or humid.
+ While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
+ The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
