Forklift Mechanic
Job Title: Forklift MechanicJob Description

We are seeking skilled Forklift Mechanics to join our team, responsible for maintaining a fleet of 350 Material Handling Equipment (MHE) units on site. The role involves performing scheduled preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance, addressing issues such as battery connectors, prevent codes, switch issues, and wheel bearing problems. The primary duty is to maintain and repair MHE, troubleshoot vehicle equipment failures, and disassemble, fix, and reassemble parts as needed.

ResponsibilitiesPerform scheduled preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance on MHE units.Troubleshoot and repair issues related to battery connectors, switch issues, and wheel bearings.Maintain and repair various types of forklifts including Toyota Sit-Down Forklifts, TYGARD Claw Propane Forklifts, and Toyota/CAT Propane Forklifts.Work with equipment such as manual and powered pallet jacks, Crown Mid-Center Units, Geo-Sleds, and Industrial Scrubbers.Document issues and repairs using a tablet and update clients and operators when equipment is taken off the floor for maintenance.
Essential Skills3+ years of experience as a MHE mechanic.Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing MHE equipment.Experience with the maintenance and diagnostics of Toyota, Crown, and Flux MHE systems.Strong communication skills to effectively update clients and operators.Familiarity with propane, electric, and battery-operated MHE platforms.
Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with safety protocols for indoor and outdoor shop environments.Knowledge of battery handling procedures.

Work Environment

The work environment is a non-climate controlled plant. Positions are available across different shifts: 1st shift (5AM-3PM), mid shift (11AM-7PM), 2nd mid shift (1PM-9PM), and 3rd shift (11PM-7AM).

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Orlando, Florida.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $34.00/hr.
