Job Title: Forklift Driver
Job Description

Join our dynamic team as a Forklift Driver, where you will utilize a normal-sized forklift to efficiently load flatbed trucks for shipment in the Vinyl and/or Lumber department. As a Material Handler/Forklift Operator in our distribution center, you will play a crucial role in safely loading trucks and unloading railcars. ResponsibilitiesOperate forklift in compliance with forklift training and safety guidelines.Load, unload, and store building materials from trailers or rail cars while minimizing damage.Store and retrieve materials, either piece pick or bulk.Prepare the necessary paperwork for distribution and shipping of products.Perform daily inspection and maintenance of equipment.Maintain cleanliness and tidiness in working and assigned areas.Assist in periodic inventory counts as requested.Essential SkillsOne year of recent forklift or warehouse experience.Proficient and safe use of a forklift to transport products, load, and unload trucks.Ability to understand and follow directions.Capability to work independently, sometimes under pressure.Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.Ability to read and comprehend sales orders, purchase orders, safety material, etc.Detail-oriented and organized with basic math skills.Safe work record and stable work history.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with order picking, pallet jack, unloading, loading, and heavy lifting.Knowledge of shipping, loading, manual labor, material handling, power tools, sit-down, and general labor.Willingness to train the right candidate.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

Work in a warehouse environment where building products are distributed. Expect cold temperatures in winter and heat in summer, as you will be outside all day. Work hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 6 PM, with some opportunities for additional work on Saturdays and Sundays. Composite or steel-toed shoes are required. You will spend 75% of your time on a forklift but must also be willing to engage in manual labor, such as cutting and moving products.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of FREDERICK, Maryland.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.00/hr.
