Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Foreman to oversee the construction of shaded structures for commercial buildings. This role involves leading a small team in tasks such as digging out material, setting columns, pouring concrete, and installing custom elements. The successful candidate will ensure precision in construction and assist with minor electrical work when required.

Responsibilities

Oversee and construct shaded structures for commercial buildings.Dig out materials, set columns, and pour concrete for footings.Ensure footings are 36 inches round and 10 feet deep.Install structural steel and custom elements, ensuring proper placement.Lead a small team, providing guidance and supervision.Read and interpret construction drawings accurately.Use levels for precision and perform minor electrical work if shades include lights.Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.Manage laborers and keep track of invoices and receipts for expensing.Perform administrative tasks such as sending emails and completing expense reports.

Essential Skills

5+ years of experience in carpentry and concrete/steel work.Leadership experience with the ability to manage a team.Proficiency in reading blueprints and construction drawings.Valid driver's license.Basic computer skills, including email and smartphone use.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience in outdoor construction.Ability to perform physical labor and work with structural steel.Familiarity with construction tools and equipment.

Work Environment

Work in a collaborative team of three, meeting at the garage and departing for job sites by 5:30 am. Enjoy 10-12 hour workdays from Monday to Thursday, with rotating Fridays for overtime. Be part of a team that knows the plan in advance, ensuring smooth operations. While possible travel outside Phoenix may occur, it is done in a company vehicle. Begin each day by reporting to the shop before your shift starts.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Phoenix, AZ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $28.00/hr.
