Seeking a Sheet Metal Foreman to supervise and coordinate the activities of craft personnel involved in the fabrication, installation, and repair of sheet metal products, systems, and structures. The role involves handling all aspects of commercial and industrial construction, including new construction, renovations, and remodels.
ResponsibilitiesPlan, organize, schedule, supervise, and inspect the work of skilled roofers and trades helpers engaged in covering roofs with roofing materials.Oversee the installation, repair, and maintenance of roofing systems.Review and evaluate work progress and oversee related administrative functions such as hiring and writing annual performance evaluations.Inspect re-roofing and related roofing work to ensure conformance to specifications.Perform infrared and thermal inspections of roofing systems to determine water infiltration.Evaluate and determine requirements and roofing material needs for various projects and order materials accordingly.Maintain maintenance and roof system warranty logs and meet with bonding company representatives regarding roofs under warranty.Work directly under the General Manager and communicate daily on current and upcoming projects.Essential Skills2-5 years of experience in the field with flats and metal work.Experience in overseeing others in commercial or residential industries.Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and measuring tools.Ability to work independently and take directions.Reliability and consistent attendance.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with small to mid-size projects and occasionally large-scale projects.Ability to travel up to 50 miles from Madison if needed, with travel and per diems available for specific jobs.Comfortable meeting at the shop each morning or going directly to the job site.Why Work Here?Enjoy a dynamic work environment with opportunities for professional growth. Work EnvironmentWork in a commercial construction environment focusing on small to mid-size projects, with some large-scale projects throughout the year. Normal shifts run from Monday to Friday, 7 am to 4 pm, with hours varying based on the project. During winter months, work typically involves 36-40 hours, while spring through fall sees 40-50 hours or more. The team size ranges from 2-10 people, depending on the project. Employees have the option to meet at the shop or travel directly to the job site, with company transport available.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
