Job Description

As a FTZ Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising the day-to-day FTZ Operations and staff. Support transition and retention of customers.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

Utilize dashboards, reports and desk checks to ensure timeliness of file logging, entry/admission/withdrawal filing and billing.Ensure the team's activities are in compliance with the regulations of local Customs laws and Partner Government Agencies (PGA)Ensure the team is compliant with the Process Standards and works within the SOP requirements of the client(s)Ensure the team operates in accordance with the policies and procedures of ExpeditorsEnsure our clients are receiving an exceptional level of customer serviceManage team dashboards and productivity. Also, join conference calls and/or pilot programs as designated by managementAssist team members with problem solving and customer servicePerform entry/admission/withdrawal audits and implement corrective actionsAbility to perform all of the functions performed by FTZ CSRs including but not limited to processing entries/admissions/withdrawals, meeting KPI's, working with Customs & PGA's, etc.Ensure all team members are cross trained and that each client has a primary and backup CSRs are assigned.Create SOPs and transitioning new clients within the teamPeriodically review existing SOPs for accuracy and update or send to agent to update as necessaryEnsure all team members are following Expeditors' credit and OCL process.Review rate schedules for accuracyEnsure all files are billed timely, accurately and accounting discrepancies are resolvedEnsure proper usage of GL codesMonitor overtimeReview profitability and productivity - with a goal of eliminating wasteKeep team's morale at a high level and maintain a low level of unplanned turnoverTrain, Motivate, Challenge and Mentor other employeesHave routine team meetings with all members of your team to ensure everyone is aware of changes, updates to regulations, etc.Prepare Annual Employee Reviews and 1 on 1s for members of your team.Ensure all team members meet or exceed training requirements and deadlines

QualificationsAt least 3 years of Customs/FTZ Brokerage Experience with Expeditors' Internal SystemAt least 1-2 years of lead/supervisory experienceWell-rounded knowledge of the HTSUSWell-rounded knowledge of the Title 19 of the Code of Federal RegulationsWell-rounded knowledge of the Foreign-Trade Zones ManualKnowledge and experience with Participating Government AgenciesThe ability to troubleshoot and solve problems quickly and effectivelyStrong Management SkillsMust be able to commute to the Pullman/El Paso FacilityHigh School Degree or equivalent requiredMust be legally authorized to work in the United StatesMust have the ability to work overtime and/or weekends in support of the department needsFluent in English and Spanish, both written and verbalGood computer skills (Word, Excel, and familiarity with PowerPoint)Comfortable with numbers and basic mathematical skillsFamiliarity with 10-key usageAbility to multi-task and prioritize throughout the workday while remaining focused and organizedDemonstrated ability to be pro-active in thought and actionStrong organizational SkillsAnalytical with a strong attention to detailEffective interpersonal skills, including proven ability to listen, comprehend, effectively communicate clearly and concisely to obtain positive resultsAbility to work independently and in a collaborative team environmentWilling to pitch in and help on last minute projects or assist team membersExcellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skillsHas a demonstrated strong work ethic, and reliabilityComfortable working in a professional business environmentProven ability and desire to learn new software and technologiesKnowledge of Expeditors Internal System PreferredUndergraduate Degree PreferredCustoms Brokerage License or Actively pursuing and taking the exam
