Job Description
As a Food Services Worker, you will be responsible for assembling tray carts for patient meals and customizing meal trays based on patient selections and dietary needs. You will work in a refrigerated environment and deliver meal trays and snacks to patient care units. This role involves close interaction with the Hospitality Service Office to ensure patient satisfaction and adherence to dietary restrictions.
Responsibilities
Assemble tray carts for patient lunch and dinner meals using patient selections and diet orders.Customize patient meal trays, including drinks, desserts, and rolls, before delivering to patient care units.Set up patient food service stations for breakfast and assist in assembling breakfast trays.Deliver meal trays and snacks to patients, replace missing items, and offer alternatives for undesired items.Refill hot beverages and condiments, and inform nursing staff of refused or missing trays.Document food and liquid intake for selected patients.Retrieve meal trays from patient rooms and ensure no personal items are left on trays.Strip food carts, sort, rinse, and assist in washing dishes and trays.Deliver menus to patients, explain the menu process, and assist with menu selections.Recommend or offer alternative selections for patients not selecting from the menu.Check for new admissions or diet changes, deliver new menus, and diet awareness cards.Complete and deliver special meal requests and secure sign-off from nursing staff.Inventory and stock hospitality carts and baskets, and deliver bulk nourishments as requested.Provide clerical support to the Hospitality Service Office, including answering phones and following up on requests.Produce standard computer reports and enter patient selections and special food preferences.Attend and assist in departmental in-services.Essential Skills
Experience in food preparation and volume cooking.Proficiency in recipe measurement and foodservice.Strong customer service skills.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience as a line cook is beneficial.Ability to operate basic computer systems for report generation and data entry.Why Work Here?

Work Environment
This position is based in a hospital's Nutritional Services department. The shift runs from 7 AM to 7 PM with schedules released biweekly. Weekend availability is required, with no exceptions.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
