Flight Readiness Technician – Prepare Aircraft for Takeoff and Delivery

Pay Rate Starting at: $37.63 per hour to $46.40 per hour
PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leader in the aerospace industry to hire a Flight Readiness Technician to support 787 aircraft programs in San Antonio, TX. In this high-impact role, you’ll help ensure aircraft are fully prepared for flight and delivery—supporting safety, quality, and on-time performance for one of the most advanced commercial aircraft in the world.
What You’ll Do Day to DayAs a Flight Readiness Technician, you will provide hands-on production and flight-line support, ensuring aircraft systems are ready for operation and delivery. Your responsibilities will include:
Performing flight test installations and aircraft functional testing
Conducting routine component installation and verification
Assisting with troubleshooting pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and avionics systems
Supporting repairs of mechanical, electrical, and electronic components
Performing pre-flight and post-flight checks, maintenance, rework, and modification actions
Resolving issues identified during aircraft operation and testing
Verifying the accuracy and quality of work performed
Assisting with system and sub-system pre-delivery inspections
Supporting aircraft maintenance activities in preparation for customer delivery
Planning and scheduling daily work activities with guidance from a lead technician
Maintaining strict adherence to safety, quality, and FOD prevention practices
Required QualificationsAbility to work variable shifts (1st, 2nd, and 3rd)
Minimum 6 months of avionics and/or electrical experience
Minimum 6 months of experience working with live aircraft systems and flight operations
Minimum 6 months of experience or knowledge related to Foreign Object Debris (FOD) risk
High school diploma or GED with at least 1 year of related experience or equivalent education
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
3+ years of related aerospace experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) license
Aerospace fabrication or manufacturing experience
Prior experience supporting the 787 program
Familiarity with the aerospace Production System
Experience with field or flight line operations

Pay Details: $37.63 to $46.70 per hour
