We are seeking experienced mechanics to join us in our mission to ensure the safety and reliability of fire trucks serving communities nationwide. Responsibilities + Conduct inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on diesel trucks and fire trucks, including engine systems, electrical systems, brakes, and hydraulics. + Perform mobile work such as preventive maintenance, repairs, and pump testing at various fire stations in Oregon and Washington. Some overnight stays will be necessary, with expenses paid by the company. + Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as fluid changes, filter replacements, and component inspections. + Carry out repairs and replacements of damaged or malfunctioning parts, ensuring adherence to manufacturer specifications and industry standards. + Collaborate with the team to troubleshoot complex issues and develop effective repair solutions. + Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance activities, and parts inventory. + Adhere to safety protocols and regulations, creating a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues. + Comply with all applicable laws and regulations, as well as company policies and procedures. + Perform safety inspections of equipment and prepare safety documentation. + Perform other duties as assigned. Essential Skills + 5 - 10 years of experience in mechanics, preferably diesel (ASE Certification required). + Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve mechanical issues efficiently. + Proficiency in using diagnostic equipment and various hand and power tools. + Knowledge of diesel engine systems, hydraulics, electrical systems, and brake systems. + Ability to interpret technical manuals and schematics to perform accurate repairs and maintenance. + Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills. + Strong communication and teamwork abilities, working effectively with colleagues to achieve common goals. + Valid driver’s license and clean driving record. + Must provide own hand tools and toolbox. + Strong written and verbal communication skills for documentation and communication with peers and supervisors. Additional Skills & Qualifications + ASE Certification is required. + Open to travel. + Experience with troubleshooting, maintenance, electrical, mechanical repair, hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, brakes, blueprints, hand tools, industrial engines, fleet maintenance, mechanical repair, diagnosis, transmission, heavy equipment, diesel trucks, auto chassis. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $45.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
