Job Description

Join our team as a Diesel Fleet Mechanic, where you will utilize your expertise in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining material handling equipment. You will work independently to ensure equipment reliability and efficiency while providing exceptional customer service.

ResponsibilitiesDiagnose, repair, and replace major system components, including circuit boards, electrical parts, hydraulic, mechanical, L.P. systems, power steering, transmissions, and engines with limited supervision.Troubleshoot and diagnose components of material handling equipment.Perform engine tune-ups on various equipment makes without supervision.Conduct timely preventive maintenance procedures.Diagnose complex electrical systems on IC and electric trucks.Maintain proper battery maintenance on electric equipment.Use and maintain specialty trade tools correctly.Operate service van safely and securely, adhering to safety rules.Follow safety procedures and company policies to complete assignments safely.Provide exceptional customer service skills.Identify and order necessary replacement parts accurately.Maintain a valid driver’s license at all times.Collaborate with departments and employees to ensure quality customer service.Report accidents, injuries, safety violations, and unsafe working conditions immediately.Account for all parts, materials, tools, and consumables used as required.Essential SkillsTroubleshooting skills in forklift, hydraulics, mechanical, and electrical systems.Experience with preventive maintenance, propane forklifts, mechanical repairs, electrical diagnostics, and hydraulic systems.Ability to read and understand electrical and hydraulic system schematics.Valid Driver License.Customer service skills and abilities.Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).Additional Skills & QualificationsHigh school diploma, G.E.D., or tech school graduate preferred.Minimum two years of experience in repair and maintenance of material handling equipment.Capability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable assistance.Willingness and ability to frequently push, pull, kneel, bend, and reach.Adequate set of personal tools as required.Capability to become certified to operate equipment.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

The work environment is a shop setting. The shift schedule is Tuesday to Friday, 12:00 PM to 8:30 PM, and Saturday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $29.00/hr.
