Fixed Asset Accountant

Job Title: Fixed Asset Accountant needed in Lithia, FL!

Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented, disciplined Accounting Specialist to support back-end accounting operations with a strong focus on fixed assets, capital project closeouts, and PO reconciliation. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a focused environment and is comfortable with repetitive, high-volume tasks that require accuracy and consistency.

Responsibilities

Facilitate the closeout of capital projects, including validation and reconciliation of supporting documentation.Review and close open purchase orders (POs) related to capital expenditures.Convert Construction-in-Progress (CIP) items to fixed assets in the fixed asset ledger.Process and record fixed asset retirements, including identifying assets in the ledger that require removal and preparing completion/retirement reports for the corporate Fixed Assets team.Maintain accurate and organized back-end accounting records to support audits and internal reporting.Assist in clearing a backlog of approximately 325 capital projects requiring closeout and ledger updates.Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, and corporate reporting requirements.

Essential Skills

Experience in fixed asset accounting.Proficiency in SAP.Proficiency in Excel, including v-lookups and pivot tables.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree required.Experience in Fixed Asset Accounting preferred.

Work Environment

The position is based on-site at a corporate office, with standard working hours from 8-5 or 9-6. The initial project duration is nine months, with the potential for extension or transition to a full-time position.

This is a Contract position based out of Lithia, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $55.00/hr.
